Please Help Make Eternal Knights My Day Job

(CLICK HERE to load this post alone and comment.)

Hi.  My name is Caley Tibbittz.

First off, thank you for reading Eternal Knights. This is my baby, my life's work, my obsession, and my soul, all rolled conveniently into one -- a Purpose Burrito, if you will.

Second, I'd love to make more than (almost) 2 pages of it per week. Thing is, I have a day job. I'm grateful(ish) for my day job -- pays the rent, buys the art supplies, provides the occassional pizza... but I don't love it by any stretch. I'm a writer, I'm an artist, I'm a creative genius (I like the term mad bastard pencil jockey).

Short version: this is a big idea. I hold myself to a high standard, I make sure it meets that standard. This isn't a hobby -- this is built to be the next Buffy, the next Angel, the next Hellboy (Bangelboy for short).

Eternal Knights is built to be the next big thing, if you want it to be.

If you want years of stories, if you want to see this grow to other media (this first 8-issue story WAS written as a standard-length screenplay, FYI), if you want more than 2 pages a week at best -- like I do -- I'm gonna need your help. I can't juggle this with a day job forever.

"How can I help?" you ask  -- it's easy. Subscribe. Bookmark. SHARE. Share this bad girl with anyone and everyone who might like it. Or might not -- you never know. I need this book to find as big an audience as possible. I need there to be an audience for the print version. I need grassroots support. And I know you need more emo violence and sex jokes -- 'cause who doesn't, right?

Issue #2 starts 05/30. Be there. And drag as many people there with you as Facebook links and Twitter posts and quick emails will allow. I'm not using a Kickstart, I'm not asking for free money -- just free advertising. Word-of-mouth me like there's no tomorrow. Please.

(Let me know how many people you're linking and referring, and be sure to tell me who your favorite character is (though I'd wait on that until, say, issue 3 is up) -- if you give me a way to contact you back, I'll find ways some cool ways to say "thank you" any above-and-beyond kind of efforts.)

I have already written another 7 issues of this arc, and another 61 stories to follow that. And that's just the first 3 "seasons". There's even more to come after that. I'm not trying to break into Marvel, I'm not trying to do anything other than build this world. And I'm not trying to answer phones for $10 an hour 'til I die. Help me make Eternal Knights my day job.

You can be my hero, baby.

Development: Robért Chandler

(CLICK HERE to load this post alone and comment.)

Robért Chandler (who debuted here: http://eternalknights.thecomicseries.com/comics/22) started out as "Bob", Kathryn's white blond secretary. I thought it would be hilarious to give him a generic name and no personality. Seriously.

Sweater. Wow. I eventually decided to give him some color - literally and figuratively. I decided I wanted him to be black (after seeing Hidalgo, I think), but then I wasn't sure I could pull it off. He just came across as overly masculine, which was wrong for the character. I tried a white version, and he just looked kind of generic again.

Then I stumbled across a John Cassady design of a British doctor. I tried to rip it off completely while adding some non-white ethnicity to it, but the results were questionable at first. I finally decided I wanted him to be white, Indian, and black, and I used an Indian actor for general reference. The final version is on the bottom right.
